The Kanchipuram silk sari is a type of silk sari made in the Kanchipuram region in Tamil Nadu, India. Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fiber of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and is produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons. 1. Dry Clean Only: Kanchipuram Silk Sarees should always be dry cleaned to maintain their quality. Avoid washing them at home, as it can damage the delicate fabric and zari work.

2. Store Carefully: When not in use, store your saree in a cotton or muslin cloth to protect it from dust and moisture. Avoid hanging the saree for long periods, as it can stretch the fabric.

3. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Exposure to direct sunlight can fade the colors of the saree. Store it in a cool and dry place away from sunlight to preserve its vibrancy.

4. Handle with Care: When wearing or handling the saree, be gentle to avoid snagging the fabric or pulling the threads. Take extra care while draping and folding the saree.
